The Journey of Trust

Job’s First Test

6 One day the angels [a] came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan [b] also came with them. 7 The LORD said to Satan, “Where have you come from?”
Satan answered the LORD, “From roaming through the earth and going back and forth in it.”

8 Then the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.”

9 “Does Job fear God for nothing?” Satan replied. 10 “Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. 11 But stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face.”

12 The LORD said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your hands, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.”
Then Satan went out from the presence of the LORD.

You know what this tells me? Nothing can come into our lives from the hand of Satan without God’s permission. This is a great revelation. It put’s my mind at ease, knowing there is a very GRAND reason why God is allowing those tests and trials in our lives.

This doesn’t mean we won’t hurt while going through it. But Papa God understands. He is full of compassion.

John 11:34-36

34And He said, Where have you laid him? They said to Him, Lord, come and see.

35Jesus wept.

36The Jews said, See how [tenderly] He loved him!

As I reflect everything my family has gone through this last year. I can see the HEART changes in each of us. How we have grown closer together. How God has become a real Daddy to us.

As we face our situations, allow Papa God to move freely, changing, directing and healing us and our loved ones. In Proverbs 20:24 God tells us that a Man’s steps are ordered by the Lord. How then can a man understand his way?

… and it’s so true. We do not have a comprehensive understanding of what’s best for us. Recently my son’ friend, 20 yrs old, died on his way to work in a car accident, leaving his family behind, including a 3 month old son. He loved God, served Him in so many ways. We want to know why? Why would He take him home so early in his life. But… then we might ask why do babies die at the hands of their mothers opting for abortion, never being given the chance to make it to 20 yrs old.

There are many things we will not understand until we are present with Him. What we can be sure of though… He loves us! He loves us so much and it’s not in His nature to do anything but good for us. He will work all things for good. It’s His promise and He is not a man that He should lie!

As I walked by an artist chalking a picture on the sidewalks of Santa Cruz, I wondered what he was drawing. He just started his picture and I could not make it out. Later that day on the way back to our car, I passed by the completed picture and saw it in all it beauty.

This is what our lives are like. Incomplete to our eyes… Complete to God. He see’s the whole picture. Be encouraged to trust Him. Talk to Him. Let Him tell what is best for you to know. In time, In His time… You will understand!

Deuteronomy 30:20
And may you love the Lord your God, obey His voice, and CLING to Him. For He is your life and the length of your days, that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to give to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Deuteronomy 7:9
Know, recognize, and understand therefore that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God, Who keeps covenant and steadfast love and mercy with those who love Him and keep His commandments, to a thousand generations,
