Last night at a restaurant, my husband broke open a pair of chopsticks; the ones that come in the paper sack, half way connected. It was delightful to watch his expression as he twirled one stick around between two fingers, showing me how warped it was. It was REALLY bent and I wondered if it would pick up his food.
Turns out the stick worked well, matter of fact, he hardly could tell he was using a bent stick.
All of a sudden, Papa showed me a clear picture, a metaphor. We are crooked like that stick, in our thought patterns and ways, and yet God still uses us; and when He uses us whether we are broken, twisted or warped it always works.
That’s because God, our Papa God, uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise.
So next time you struggle with the thought of worthlessness or someone tells you that God can’t or won’t use you because of (blah blah blah), you remember this… God is no respecter of man. He used a murder (Paul) to build His church. He used a betrayer (Peter) to do mighty things for Him. He used a nobody (Joseph) to rule a nation and save His people. God will use you if you are willing.
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God allthings are possible.”
Let go of preconceived ideas, notions and of all man’s religious rules and let the Spirit of God guide you.
1 Corinthians 1:27
But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.
I will raise up Cyrus in my righteousness: I will make all his ways straight.
in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
