What do we do when that happens? Let’s Pray!
He is in charge of the insignificant details of our lives as much as the large details, the direction they go and what influences stay in them.
Mountains! They can be huge obstacles and come in the way of many forms. We must be mindful of the manipulating tactics of the Devil, the 3 D’s.
Something to think about: In all things, at all times we should be aware of our relationship with God. “Pray without ceasing”: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Discouragement – Feeling thwarted by circumstance or people.
Distraction – Getting caught up by the cares of the world.
Disinterest – Sitting on the fence, like being luke-warm bottom.
Although our emotions can be dragged in by these obstacles, our battle is in the spiritual and so must our help be! What do we do when that happen’s? Let’s Pray!
Zechariah 4 For who are you, O great mountain [of human obstacles]? Before Zerubbabel [who with Joshua had led the return of the exiles from Babylon and was undertaking the rebuilding of the temple, before him] you shall become a plain [a mere molehill]! And he shall bring forth the finishing gable stone [of the new temple] with loud shoutings of the people, crying, Grace, grace to it!
When Zerubbabel became discouraged, the work stopped and it’s much the same with us. Today I was reminded of this very thing. I became distracted by the disinterested self-centeredness of a colleague. I was caught off guard and that’s how the devil likes it.
What do we do when this happens? We Pray! It took me a bit of time to work this out but I came to understand that despite what happened, Papa God had allowed it (insignificant details of the influences that are removed). He is moving me in a different direction. You see how this works?
When a door slams, when a person leaves, when we’re hated, when it doesn’t pan out, I pray and am learning to smile in the face of that adversity and recognize where Papa’s hand is. Don’t be discouraged nor [with reason] despises the day of small things, (but Pray!)… Zechariah 4:10
Like the Apostle Paul in Acts 16:6-10 who the Holy Spirit blocked his way from preaching God’s word in some places and stopped them from traveling from others. Paul didn’t understand why, nor were we told that he complained and got discouraged. He just moved on and in doing so he found the direction Papa God meant for him to go.
He moved on… because he knew it’s not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit [of Whom the oil is a symbol], says the Lord of hosts. Zechariah 4:6
Zerubbabel knew how to start well, but found it difficult to keep going. We must apply ourselves to perseverance, especially in the face of adversity. Don’t give up, for God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control. 2 Tim 1:7
Set Papa continually before you, seek His face and His will in everything you do. You may be standing before a wall, but nothing, not even the Red Sea can stop Papa God from taking you from here ~~~~~~~~~> to there, when it’s His plan to do so!
Btw… stopping is not an option. Though I WALK through the valley of death, I will fear no evil. Why? Because He is with us!!
When something unexpected happens, what do we do? Let’s Pray!
